1Explosion-proof performance


        In gasoline tank, 50 grams of Hexal explosives are detonated at the boundary of oil and gas at a condition easiest to explode. Blank gasoline tank shows astonishing explosion effect, which forms obvious phenomenon of mushroom cloud explosion. While the gasoline tank filled with spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, although immense explosive shock wave blast away the tank, it doesn’t cause any secondary explosion since spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material prevent the spread of fuel burning and absorb large amount of explosion shock wave.

While the gasoline tank filled with spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, although immense explosive shock wave blast away the tank, it doesn’t cause any secondary explosion since spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material prevent the spread of fuel burning and absorb large amount of explosion shock wave.

        We stimulate condition that a high flash point jet fuel tank, which major used on large ships, is hitting by fire, and compare it with nitrogen protection, current method that navy usually adopt to protect tank. Test result shows that after being hit, the explosion temperature field parameters of nitrogen protected tank are similar with the data of blank test, which means nitrogen protection is not an effective way to keep off explosion. While with the tank filled with spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, the secondary explosion process has been effectively suppressed and heat radiation is only about 10% of the blank test. The material has played an important role in protecting the tank from exploding seriously.


        Shoot oil can using high temperature metal jet produced by 40mm rocket projectile, common military diesel tank is ignited and explodes drastically. While with the tank filled with spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, flow of fuel doesn’t get burnt, oil can doesn’t explode, and the overall stay intact.

        According to GB14372-2005 Transport of dangerous goods— Test method and criteria of acceptance and classification for explosives, put the tank filled with 1/2 volume of gasoline, diesel and aviation kerosene respectively on fire of which the flame temperature is not lower than 800 and bake them for 30 minutes. After filling the spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, the size of combustion and explosion fireball decrease greatly than blank test. Spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material can obviously slow fire spread, minimize explosion hazards.


        Use welding robot carry out welding operations on military diesel oil can 1/2 volume full. Even the temperature at welding point reaches 4000, the tank filled with spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material doesn’t get exploded, which further shows that the material is effective in explosion suppression.

2Oil adaptability test

        We make comparative research on the compatibility of motor gasoline, military diesel, spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material and other type of explosion suppression materials during five years storage. Result shows that polyurethane separation explosion suppression material, not only its own structure and mechanical properties change sharply, the compression deformation increase by more than 90%, the tensile strength decrease by more than 46%, but also it makes the oil's actual colloid increase by 45 times and apparently affect oil storage performance. Meanwhile, there are obvious changes in microstructure of aluminum alloy explosion suppression material: surface roughness increase, grooves and holes appear, tensile strength dropped 22%, easy to cause deformation, collapse and scaling-off phenomenon, which have negative impact on the storage and use of oil, lead to particle pollution increase by 5 times, accelerate engine wear and reduce engine life, etc. Spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, by contrast, its mechanical and electrical properties haven’t changed, neither does it have any negative influence on the performance of oil storage or use.

3Flame retardancy test

        After soaking the spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material and certain polyurethane material respectively in gasoline for 24 hours, according to GB/T2408-2008 Plastics—Determination of burning characteristics—Horizontal and vertical test, we test their combustion performance. Result shows that there is no drip during the combustion of the spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material, and it get self-extinguished, with flame retardation at class V-0. 

4.Surge resistance test

        Simulate the surge phenomenon in the course of oil transportation: After filling the spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material in the tanker, liquid height of oil sloshing rise below 5% of the blank test, which effectively prevent the surge, reduce the electrostatic accumulation inside the tanker, so as to avoid dangerous accidents.

5.Loading performance test

   Loading performance is the most concerned by users. The spherical non-metallic explosion suppression material has a standard spherical structure, which makes it easy for users to realize mechanical loading and cleaning. It can withstand over 100 atmospheres of mechanical strength, and its service life is longer than the oil tank and the oil tank itself. It can be used repeatedly in different oil tanks, which solves the problem that the traditional explosion-proof material cannot be taken out of the oil tank for cleaning, easy collapse and short life.
